Demonstrations by the Coastal Physical Culture Club during the day

"Bjelke-Petersen (BJP) Physical Culture, or Physie (pronounced 'fizzy'), is a sport for girls and women from 3 years up which aims to build confidence, good posture, strength, fitness and flexibility through exercise. Physie has been around for over 100 years, with routines updated annually. The routines or the ‘syllabus’, which is different for each age group is choreographed to modern music and incorporates dance, ballet, pilates and aerobic exercises.

The Coastal Physical Culture Club is a new physie club started in 2011 on the Central Coast. It runs classes from Kincumber and Erina Fair. The Coastal Club’s aim is to teach girls the basics of movement with music, involving teaching the Physie syllabus in a modern and energetic way.

Physie classes are cheap compared to other types of dance and form many lasting friendships. We at The Coastal Physie Club are dedicated to making physie fun! But most of all would love for you to come give it a try!! All new members get their first class free! Hope to see you soon!"
